在新的一年,祝大家身心康泰!LTY一向為我們的學生提供大量的活動,希望豐富同學的學習經歷。我們相信經歷為本的成效相比傳統在課室聽課,學生的吸收能力更高,這些學習經歷令學生在過程中更有興趣,多與其他人互動,心情會更開朗,我們會繼續朝向這方向發展。一月份第一個大型活動就是開放日,名為「愛在LTY」(LOVE in LTY)。我們整個團隊認為用愛去教導學生,感動學生,支持學生,才能得到最大的效果。我們亦希望這份愛傳遞出去,令其他學校、整個社區也能感受得到。

In the new year, I wish everyone good health and well-being! LTY has always provided our students with a wide range of activities to enrich their learning experiences. We believe that experiential learning is more effective in terms of knowledge absorption compared to traditional classroom lectures. These learning experiences make students more interested and engaged in the process, allowing for more interaction with others and fostering a positive mindset. We will continue to develop in this direction. The first major event in January is the Open Day, titled "LOVE in LTY." Our entire team believes in teaching, inspiring, and supporting students with love to achieve the best results. We also hope to spread this love and make it felt by other schools and the entire community.

一月十三日(星期六)早上至中午,學校擠滿了人,包括幼稚園家長、學生、LTY學生、畢業生、家長和老師等。一進入學校大門,就可以看到一隻大熊坐在那裏,等候並歡迎大家來到LTY。這隻大熊暫時還沒有名字,學校決定把取名的機會交給全校學生,讓他們為它起名。學生們都非常興奮,每天都去看看有沒有同學為它取名,他們還每天去探望它,給它一個擁抱。這正是我們希望的效果。因為在G01室,LTY安排了一個展覽,名為「擁抱展」,展示了許多正向的文字和插畫。學校希望向學生傳遞正面的訊息,讓大家明白自己並不孤單,大家可以互相支持。透過開放日,家長、幼稚園學生、畢業生,甚至我們的老師也能從中受益。開放日當天,許多人進入G01室參觀,有的家長甚至含淚欣賞,表示內容讓她們感動,也很符合學校的主題。

On 13th January 2024 (Saturday) morning until noon, the school was filled with people, including kindergarten parents, students, LTY students, alumni, parents, and teachers. As soon as you entered the school gate, you could see a big bear sitting there, waiting and welcoming everyone to LTY. This bear does not have a name yet, and the school decided to give the opportunity to name it to all the students, allowing them to come up with a name for it. The students are very excited and visit every day to see if anyone has named it. They also visit the bear every day and give it a hug. This is exactly the effect we hoped for. In G01, LTY arranged an exhibition called "Embrace Exhibition," showcasing positive words and illustrations. The school aims to convey positive messages to students, letting them understand that they are not alone and that they can support each other. Open Day allowed parents, kindergarten students, alumni, and even our teachers to benefit from it. On that day, many people entered G01 to visit, and some parents even shed tears of appreciation, saying that the content touched them and aligned with the school's theme.

開放日最精彩的活動是足球比賽。我們為LTY幼稚園學生進行了長達數月的訓練,並為他們準備了球衣,讓他們感到比賽的氣氛。比賽當天,家長們為孩子們加油打氣,攝影師捕捉每個珍貴的時刻,連LTY的工友也來觀看比賽。此次比賽更注重參與的樂趣,而非結果。最後,兩隊都獲得了獎牌,最佳運動員備受讚賞,現場氣氛達到高潮。攤位上人龍不斷,人們希望獲得貼紙以換取小禮物,單車和「心碌碌」攤位尤其受歡迎。頒獎禮上,幼稚園學生和家長期待著填色比賽和足球比賽的獎項,他們開心地接受並留下珍貴的回憶。最後,精彩的功夫表演引起觀眾的尖叫和掌聲。整個學校從早上9點到下午1點都充滿了人群,開放日讓更多人認識了LTY。 |
The highlight of the Open Day was a soccer match. We provided months of training for LTY kindergarten students and prepared jerseys for them to experience the atmosphere of a real match. On the day of the match, parents cheered for their children, photographers captured precious moments, and even the LTY staff came to watch the game. The focus of the match was on the joy of participation rather than the result. In the end, both teams received medals, and the best athlete was highly praised, creating a climax at the scene. The booths were crowded with people hoping to get stickers in exchange for small gifts, and the bicycle and "Heart-wheels" booths were particularly popular. At the award ceremony, kindergarten students and parents eagerly awaited the awards for the coloring contest and soccer match. They happily accepted the awards and left with precious memories. Finally, a spectacular Kung Fu performance drew screams and applause from the audience. The entire school was filled with crowds from 9 am to 1 pm, and the Open Day allowed more people to get to know LTY.

一月中旬是上學期的考試,同學們都努力溫習,以獲取好成績。考試結束後,本年度的「跨課程閲讀周」於1月29日至2月2日舉行,主題是「錦繡中華」。透過跨課程學習活動,學生將培養閲讀能力,認識中華文化,體驗中華文化並欣賞其中的魅力。學校在這期間也安排了一個全校外出參觀博物館的活動,旨在讓學生透過實際體驗學習,獲得知識、掌握技能,並培養正面的價值觀和態度。這樣的活動有助於學生發展終身學習的能力,實現全面的人才發展。透過「跨課程閲讀周」和博物館參觀活動,學生將有機會深入了解中華文化的精髓,並進一步拓展他們的視野。這些活動不僅是學習的機會,也是學生們發展興趣和培養多元能力的平台。學校希望這些活動能啟發學生的好奇心,激發他們對中華文化的熱愛,並在學習過程中享受到樂趣。

Mid-January was the exam period for the previous semester, and students worked hard to review and achieve good results. After the exams, the "Cross-Curricular Reading Week" for this year will be held from 29th January to 2nd February with the theme "Splendors of Chinese Culture." Through cross-curricular learning activities, students will develop their reading abilities, learn about Chinese culture, experience it firsthand, and appreciate its charm. The school also arranged a whole school outing to visit museums during this period, aiming to provide students with practical learning experiences, knowledge, skills, and positive values and attitudes. Such activities help students develop lifelong learning abilities and achieve comprehensive talent development. Through the "Cross-Curricular Reading Week" and museum visits, students will have the opportunity to delve into the essence of Chinese culture and broaden their horizons. These activities are not only learning opportunities but also platforms for students to develop interests and cultivate diverse abilities. The school hopes that these activities will inspire students' curiosity, ignite their passion for Chinese culture, and allow them to enjoy the process of learning.

During this learning experience, the students were actively engaged, eagerly returning to school every day to participate in various activities. On the day of the exhibition, they showcased the knowledge and skills they had acquired in unique ways. Some students shared their reading experiences through posters and reports, while others performed captivating acts and created artwork to demonstrate their understanding of Chinese culture. Each student showcased their individual talents and creativity, making the entire exhibition vibrant and diverse.

在這個2024年的一月末至二月初進行「跨課程閱讀周」,目的是實踐LTY的教學理念—經歷為本的2.0版。從觀察、參與、實踐、去親身學習知識。今年將「跨課程閱讀周」提早,因為希望同學在考試後及下學期開始時進行,心情可以輕鬆又投入。可惜,今年天氣極反常,先在一月出現極寒冷的天氣,到了二月開始,天氣回暖,潮濕的天氣令牆壁、地下傷心起來,叫人步步為營,不可出錯。無論天氣如何不似預期,抽樣詢問同學,各位十分喜歡學校所安排的活動,大家十分開心,每天也與我分享所學,太好了﹗ |
In the late January to early February of this year, we conducted a "Reading Across the Curricular (RaC) Week" to practice LTY's teaching philosophy - Experiential-based 2.0 version. The goal was to let students observe, participate, practice, and learn knowledge through personal experiences. This year, we decided to hold the "RaC Week" earlier, right after the first term exam and at the beginning of the next semester, so that students could approach it with a relaxed and engaged mindset. Unfortunately, the weather has been extremely unusual this year. We experienced extremely cold weather in January, but as February began, the weather started to warm up. The dampness in the air caused the walls and floors to become moist, making us cautious and careful not to make any mistakes. Despite the unexpected weather conditions, we conducted a random survey and asked the students for their feedback. They expressed great enthusiasm for the activities arranged by the school and were very happy. They also shared with me that they had learned every day, which is fantastic!
